High School Prep Program
In the spring of 2020 Marin Baseball will be running a High School Player Prep Program designed for the 6th, 7th and 8th graders who aspire to play High School Baseball. From our collective experience we feel there are three main areas of development your player needs to get ready for High School baseball. These are as follows:
1. Baseball skills training:
By this point your player probably knows how to catch, field and throw
but those are the very basics of a good high school player. During our skills training your player
will learn other skills necessary for High School success.
2. Strength, Speed and Conditioning:
When you go to a high school tryout and there are 40 players
who can all catch, field and throw how do you separate yourself? Your good high school player
works out as much as they play baseball. We will introduce your child to the
proper way to work out in a fun and safe environment.
3. Game Competition:
The third leg of the stool is learning how to compete during games. We encourage the players to play on their local Little League teams to get game time. We will be asking them to have their at bats video taped as well as if they pitch have that taped as well (a couple of batters). Our coaches will then evaluate the video and work with the players on areas of improvement.
This program will begin on Monday Feb 24th and will consist of the following:
Monday practices at Alberts Park from 6:30 - 8:30pm
Every other Wednesday skills practices at Redwood's Moody field after daylight savings (includes S&C component)
We will also have strength and conditioning at Redwood High School (most likely Thursday evenings)
